On day workshop on Machine Learning

Machine learning is an application of artificial intelligence (AI) that provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning focuses on the development of computer programs that can access data and use it learn for themselves.

On 8th March 2020, a workshop on Machine Learning was conducted in Anjuman Institute of Management and Computer Application for the students of B.C.A wherein, an Anjuman alumnus and the current faculty of Bearys Institute of Technology, Mr. Mohammed Sinan was appointed to guide the students on what Machine Learning is and what is the applicability and importance of Machine Learning in today’s world.

Prof. Mohammed Sinan is an Alumnus of AITM & a student of M.Tech from SJEC College, Bangalore. He previously was working as an Assistant Professor in AITM for 10 years (2009-17). He has conducted various IT related workshops and seminars and is currently working for Bearys Institute of Technology.

The Workshop on Machine Learning started with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Mr. Mashar of B.C.A Ist year. Mr. Nafeel Malpa, student of B.C.A final year and also the student secretary introduced the Resource Person.

The workshop covered many key topics in Machine Learning. In simple words, how computers learn user’s data and processes them to give better output. How different machines can identify an anomaly, like frauds. How self-driving cars learn and the imposition of positive reward and negative rewards. What true positives, negatives, false positives, negatives are. Etc.

All in all, the workshop was very informative and insightful, team AIMCA very much looks forward in seeing Mr. Sinan again and is very much sure that it’s the same from the side of the counterpart.
